Local Bylaws
Selection
Selection of members will be based on grades and conduct. Students must have an average of 90 (athletics not included) to be considered for membership. In addition, students must not have received an "n" or "u" in conduct at any time during the previous year.
Induction
Students must attend the induction ceremony on the selected date to be inducted into the society. If they do not attend, they will not be inducted onto the National Junior Honor Society.
Meetings
Members must attend all meetigs. If they are absent from a meeting, they must have a written excuse from a parent or doctor. It is up to the sponsors to determine if it is an excused absence or not. Members will receive a calendar with the dates of all meetings and special events.
Officers will call each member prior to each meeting. However, if a member does not receive a phone call, it is still their responsibility to make sure they arrive at each meeting on time.
Members must be on time. Two tardies equal one missed meeting. Two missed meetings equals probation and a third missed meeting equals a dismissal.
Grades and Report cards
All members must show a sponsor their report card at the end of each six weeks. If they do not show a report card to a sponsor, it will count as a missed meeting. it is the member's responsibility to remember to show a sponsor their report card.
Members must continue to maintain an average of 90 (athletics not included). If a members average falls below 90, they will be placed on probation. If they fall below a 90 the following six weeks they will be dismissed.
Service Project
Each member will be required to complete a service project during the year. Failure to complete a project will result in immediate dismissal.
Community Service and Fundraising
All members will be required to participate in any and all community service projects and fundraising events scheduled throughout the year. Service is a key part of the National Junior Honor Society.

December 11, 2009 NJHS Christmas Dance 7-10 P.M. Tentative
March 2,2010 NJHS Meeting 7:30 am.
